My Brief Book Reviews

I have completely read these books and so I think that they are really good - unless I have made comments otherwise. (Other opinions may vary!)

A Moveable Feast

Ernest Hemingway

It's about Hemingway's time that he had spent in Paris in the 1920's. The writing was fair. I thought it would have more atmosphere but I should have known better having read his book about his trip to Spain. (I forgot the name of the book.)

Zappa: A Biography

by Barry Miles

A rather dry and at times a bit boring biography about Frank Zappa the avant-garde musician. It probably would have been more boring but Frank, at times lead a very interesting life.

Can't biographers come up with more original titles than "A Biography" and "A Life"?????

Rule the Freakin' Markets

How to Profit in Any Market, Bull or Bear

by Michael Parness

It's about a guy who made a lot of money in a year and a half in the stock market. He is a very aggressive buyer and seller with a lot of money in his stocks - a couple of thousand per trade, minimum. I guess it is a good way to make money but I don't have that kind of computer time that he recommends nor do I have that kind of money to spend on the stock market.

Yes, I have been putting a little bit of money in the stock market. Just not the way he is doing it.
