Descartes' Bones

by Russell Shorto

A Skeletal History of the Conflict Between Faith and Reason

Follows Descartes bones - he died in Sweden - while tracing the history of the intellectual change between his history changing belief that fact and reason was the way towards truth rather than religious faith and authority.

Good read and a very interesting history of the acceptance of reason and scientific method.
