My Brief Book Reviews

I have completely read these books and so I think that they are really good - unless I have made comments otherwise. (Other opinions may vary!)

Misquoting Jesus

The Story Behind Who Changed the Bible and Why

by Bart D. Ehrman

This is a book which explains that there are no originals of the books of the New Testament, just copies of the copies of the copies. He talks about how changes occurred and explains the different types of changes.

If you don't want to read the whole book, (which I highly recommend that you do) just read the intro and pages 152-155.

The second and third centuries A.D. (before the New Testament was put together in its whole form) "were particularly rich in theological diversity among the early Christians. In fact, the theological diversity was so extensive that groups calling themselves Christian adhered to beliefs and practices that most Christians today would insist were not Christian at all."

This is a book that I will eventually get for my own.
